Willsbro Captures 2nd High Seller at Borderway Black & White Sale

The 23rd Black & White Sale held at Borderway, Carlisle (5th December) attracted a large crowd featuring bidders from across the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and North America, as purchasers were offered the very best dairy genetics from nine counties within the UK and Ireland.

 

Willsbro Holsteins consigned  4 exceptionally well bred maiden heifers to the sale, and would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who bid on their calves at the sale, and particularly those that purchased.

 

Second top price of the entire sale went to Willsbro Howie Lila Z.  A Kerndtway Howie granddaughter  out of  the All Canadian Lylehaven Lila Z  EX94, she sold for 9,000gns and joins the herd of B. Mckiken, Ernespie, Castle Douglas.  This heifer has created interest from all over Europe and sold with over £7,000 in embryo and bull contracts. 

 

Realising 4,200gns was Willsbro PS Rapture, this showy April 09 calf backed by 12 generations of Excellent dams sold to D R & H M Horsley Ltd of Woodhouse Farm, Penrith, Cumbria.

 

Making 4,100gns was Willsbro D Ross Erle, sired by Plain O Durham Ross and just a little under 12 months of age on sale day, she sold to Firthhead Partners of Meikle Firthhead, Castle Douglas.

 

Finally making 3,800gns was Willsbro Sho Sara, a Red Carrier Shottle daughter from the Internationally in demand Sara family, she was purchased by J & W Bailie of Hillhead of Covington, Biggar, Lanarkshire.
